Common commitment to sustainable cars
DEKRA new member of Green NCAP
DEKRA is joining the Green NCAP program as a new member. Both organizations share common goals and a commitment to promote the development of cars that are clean, energy-efficient and cause as little harm to the environment as possible. DEKRA will also contribute to the long-term ambitions of Green NCAP, given its extensive experience in the field of testing.
Green NCAP, through its active testing program that delivers results to consumers about the environmental impact of today’s vehicles, aims to promote cars that have a lower impact on the environment, thereby improving air quality, minimizing the use of resources and, in the long-term, reducing global warming. These are ambitions that DEKRA is clearly aligned with.
DEKRA offers qualified and independent expert services, with the long-term vision of creating a safe, secure, and sustainable world. DEKRA has been active in the field of safety for almost 100 years and ensures safety on the road, at work, and at home. As one of the world’s leading vehicle inspection and testing organizations, the company currently employs more than 48,000 people in approximately 60 countries on all five continents. DEKRA established the Corporate Focus Area of Sustainability with experts working on the development of new sustainable services. Experts from this area will be supporting the development of life cycle assessment in collaboration with Green NCAP.
“Green NCAP is keen to encourage other like-minded companies in the transport sector to join our organization and DEKRA offers extensive experience and knowledge that Green NCAP can maximize to its benefit. To gain access to a range of experts who can help us to understand the true environmental impact of vehicles throughout their life cycle is a clear benefit of this partnership”, says Dr. Aleksandar Damyanov, Green NCAP’s Technical Manager. “Green NCAP can then continue with its key objective of providing consumers with a clear picture of how much their vehicle affects the climate as well as the energy cars use before they even get on the road.”
“The vision of a sustainable world links Green NCAP and DEKRA perfectly. With our experts and infrastructure, we want to offer our expertise to assist in shaping the future Green NCAP testing program. We are looking forward to contributing with our extensive knowledge and experience to the goals of Euro NCAP and Green NCAP to make the digitized and automated mobility of the future safe, secure, and sustainable”, says Jann Fehlauer, Managing Director of DEKRA Automobil.
DEKRA already has associate membership status for safety in collaboration with Euro NCAP.
